TSO

Today I went to the Roy Thompson Hall to watch the TSO (Toronto Symphony Band). Because the trip to Toronto took a while, the concert took a while longer and the trip back took a while, we got to miss school altogether! No learning done today!!  So heres basically how the trip went:

-               Go to another classroom. (Because they had more students in band than us.)
  • -               Leave school at 9:45(The buses took their sweet time.)
  • -               Got to Roy Thompson Hall around 10:50
  • -               We’re ushered as quickly as possible inside the theater 11:00
  • -               Concert starts
  • -               Concert ends 12:00
  • -               We get back to school 1:30
  • -               Eat lunch 1:40
  • -               Go home 2:10

All right then here is all that in paragraph form. I would write more but I gots some homework.

I woke up at 6:00, since I didn’t have any homework (I was practically skipping school…). After going through the usual morning routine which everyone has grown too tired of hearing anyway, I went to school. Five minutes into the morning and me and my band friends had been called over to different rooms. After switching classrooms and resting around for a while we were called down for the bus. We got the luxury of sitting in an unmoving bus for a whole 15 minutes while teachers waited for other teachers to wait for other teachers to apparently sort everything out. After a 45-minute bus drive we finally arrived at Ray Thompson. Everything there was very well artictechtury…. Anyway we where quickly ushered into a tiny hallway that led to a GIGANTIC room.  It was the actual hall itself. We saw tons of cool stuff like old people hitting garbage cans at unbelievable speeds and unbelievable accuracy. People so deeply into the music that their entire body moved whilst playing a note. It was very interesting to watch. After about eight pieces we got to leave which my legs were thankful for. After we finally reached the school at around 1:30 my stomach didn’t complain at all about the food. That chicken sandwich was blessed!  After watching about thirty minutes of tangled we got to go home.

Any way, hope you didn’t really enjoy reading that, I didn’t totally enjoy writing that…. Well gotta get back to my other homework, YAY!!(note sarcasm).

Day 6 Baltimore, Maryland, USA BEACH edition

26/07/2014

Today went to the beach... but we somehow managed to spend over four times as much time driving as compared to actually being at the beach. We left at around 10:30 and would have gotten to the beach at a decent time, except when we were almost there we got news that the bridge we had to cross had been closed since 10:00 am!! Mind you, we didn't get this news from the radio or signs that authorities should have put up... NO we got it from people right in front of turning around and telling everyone that the bridge was broken!!! This should make for pretty good evidence when complaining about the Ocean City Police force.... Then after another 1-2 hours of detour driving we finally got there at 6:00. Just before most people started to leave... D: -sigh- . After that we tried Boogie Boarding and it was fun, but the water started to get chilly. So, after a quick dinner at the beach we drove back home at 8:00.In the car we tried to keep ourselves awake by playing the letter game(read my other post).  Unfortunately for everyone that wanted to sleep most people grabbed some shut-eye in the cars, so they were wide awake when we got back at around midnight. i know for fact that the kids didn't go to sleep till 2:30!! That explains why we couldn't wake up 3 and a half hours later to pack for New York... I'm leaving for New York in about 30 minutes so... Buh-Bye 10:36

Day 5 Baltimore, U.S.A

25/07/2014

Today was probably one of the boring-er days of the visit... The parents went shopping for hours, and then after lunch nearly left me at home when going to visit my great-grandparents apartment. The day started of with us going to Annapolis harbor. It had some nice views and such and we took a nice walk there. Later that day....  I was in the basement, playing clumsy ninja, and they nearly took off without me to my great-grandparents apartment. Both cars thought I was in the other... They would have left to if it weren't for a needless and time-wasting last check :| . My great-grandparents were nice, and we went for a walk. They stay at a elderly hotel, and i have to say it was beautiful...

After that we rushed home(because we had to pack for the beach)and all the kids got to sleep in the basement and they all lived happily ever after. Just kidding, those kids, somehow managed to stay up for 2 hours, thanks a lot _______. Any way it turned out great.

Buh-Bye

Day 4, Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A

24/07/2014

Today we went to visit some museums. We went back to Washington D.C and we visited three museums. I will write about each of them separately.....

National air and space museum

As most people might I wasn't completely interested in most of the museum, however as you might not now, I am a  space  person  so I found the space part pretty amusing. The best 30 of the trip was probably the half-hour documentary we got to watch. Called Dark Universe.
Unfortunately we followed the rules and got out at the end instead of watching another one without paying. I wanted to stay, but the "adult"(Niva nini) told us our parents would be worried and craziness like that so we had to get out. :( The flight part was pretty boring for me.... so i wont waste time blogging about it.

National museum of Natural history

In this museum i apparently spent too much time reading all the information about evolution, animals and natural history... The one time i come to a museum of natural history i'm not aloud to spend all day soaking up information.. JK! I had a great time. Check out my picture as a homo heidelbergensis, a direct ancestor of the human species. XD

I look banging XD

The third museum we went to was an american indian museum but we only went in there rest and relax, and didn't really explore... :(

Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A

23/07/2014

Hey guys, as you may have guessed from the title I am blogging from Baltimore. I finally got the chance to blog after two days of being here. So yes, today is day 3 of 16. I actually live in Canada, so I had to take an 8-hour drive (that somehow turned into a 10-hour drive) just to get here so I was kinda tired on that first day. The second day was just a bunch of fun. We played Minecraft, pool, had pillow fights, and even squeezed in some silly games like tag and manhunt.

Today we are supposed to be visiting Washington DC. Should be pretty fun. I’ll get to check how white the white house really is and spend yet more hours in a car. This time though I’ll be squished in instead of having a bunch of footrests… sooo….

Anyways I’m looking forward to the trip, and to the beach we’re supposed to be going to on Saturday.

WONDERLAND trip

WONDERLAND

June 11, 2014

Today, I went to wonderland. It was tons of fun! Read on to find out about my adventures!!!

Before, we get started, let me give you a bit of a background. I play a clarinet, i am in the band program at my school. The reason I went to wonderland was to perform with my fellow band students.

All right, now the for the story. I woke up at 6:10, went back to sleep and woke up at 7:00. I took a shower, got dressed, brushed my teeth, and hurried downstairs for my breakfast(7:45am). I had an egg and some roti, plus a healthy glass of milk. Then after getting my umbrella and spraying on some sunscreen i took off with; $27.95, a extra T-shirt, a small towel, an umbrella, a wallet, a bag, my clarinet, my music, a good book and myself(7:58am).

By the time I got to school(8:04am) all the instrumentalists were lined my and ready to board the buses. It took about a hour and a quarter to get there, and we performed right then(10:00am).Soon we were finished and got to watch the strings play, unfortunately, there was only one other school and our own students to watch us perform. But then we got into our groups and headed off to explore(10:45am)

Before we go any further let me introduce our group. Liam, Danny, Claude, Aric, Hardik(me), and Liam's father, Mr.Warks. Liam and Claude went on about five rides, because of "motion sickness" Mr.Warks had to stay with them. Danny and myself went on all the rides, and Aric went on about 60% of the time.

Instead of talking about all the rides, I will just pick my five favorite rides instead. To make things easier for the both of us.

Boo blaster, leviathan, behemoth, shockwave, dragon fire.

5.  Boo Blaster

So, Boo Blaster was one of those games where you have a laser gun and you have to shoot it at little blue lights that pop up everywhere. As usual, since my aim is like A+ i got 2,759 points. That was more than the rest of my group combined. And with some modesty, I am a master blaster(1200+ points) all my friends are either blaster wannabees(30-300) or beginner blasters(301-500).However, everyone is good in some areas and bad at others. The high score for the day was 3,2?? and the years high score was 5,3??. Yea, these guys are good. Awesome level 3

4. Dragon Fire

Dragon fire is your average, fast looping, and dangerous rollercoaster. It moves at 50 km per hour and has 2 loops, a corkscrew and a helix. Quick fact, it was one of the original 4 rollercoasters when the park opened in 1981.Awesome level 4

3. SHOCKWAVE

Shockwave 3
Shockwave, is the first ride of its kind that I've ridden. It has 6 arms and 5 seats per arm. So 30 seats in total. Riders are lifted as high as 63 feet (19M) in the air and then spun and turned in all directions on the rotating ride spectacular. It feels like you're going to fall because the seat tilts forward and backwards while spinning around at a dizzying speed! Awesome level 5

1or2. Leviathan
Levithan image 3
The leviathan is the best(tied with behemoth of course)!!!!At 306 feet (93.27M) this is the tallest ride in the Park – towering 76 feet (23.2M) taller than Behemoth, and 5 feet (1.52M) taller than WindSeeker."It's still going up! It's still going up!!! Holy sh!t its still going up!!!!!!!" It has a major drop, unfortunately i only got to ride it once :(
Well..... gotta save something for next time. Awesome level 6_

1 or 2. Behemoth
The behemoth, the best rollercoaster in wonderland until the leviathan. The first drop towers at 230 feet (70.1M) – that’s the same height as Drop Tower! You can tell from the pictures that it isn't for all types of stomachs. I got to ride it 3 times!! And I even scored a second row seat! It was mostly: "The suns in my eye! Wait... why are we slowing down? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!Another hill, finally a bre-aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Awesome level 7_

Before I end this post I would just like to share a souvenir I bought at one of 30+ gift shops. Its a quartz stone with a snake carving. It stands for wisdom and honesty.
Bye and thanks for reading.
