Cedar Glen camp from a youngsters view part 7

Today we had a Big BIG problem. No, I did not miss the bus again. But if you live near brampton and toronto you know about all the rain that has started falling. Apparently we set records! So, when we go to camp we have to travel Down    ! So do you know the problem yet? Well, if you said flooding you are correct. All of the lower camp ground area was covered with rain water. So we could not and can not go down there until Thursday if we are lucky.  But we still had some higher camp ground that hadn't yet been flooded. So we spent our day there.This is what we did.

Capture the flag

The game has 2 teams and both have a flag. So the battle field is divided into 2 halves. One side is for the blue team and the other side is for the red team. We had to wear pinnies so that we weren't confused. There was a hoolahoop on each side and inside these hoolahoops were our flags.These were the rules:

1. You cannot throw the flag from one team mate to another.
2. If you are on enemy territory you can get tagged and you will be frozen until a team member touches you.
3. You are safe on your territory.
4. If a enemy is inside your hoolahoop in any way ( hand, one foot) then they are safe.
5. You cannot not follow the rules or else the game doesn't work.

It was a really fun game and we played 6 times. Our side was the blue side and we won 2 games and the red side won 4 so overall the other team got gold.

European handball

In European handball there are 2 teams. Each team has a net and a goalie. So you can run around everywhere if you do not have the ball. But if you do have the ball then you may only take 3 steps then either shoot at the net from a distance because of a boundry or pass to a teammate who is closer to the net. You may not grab the ball when a player is holding it but you can jump for the ball if someone passed it through the air. It was fun and we tied the game 14-14.

Swimming

On swimming it was the usual. There were lots of people with life jackets in my way cause I swim in the shallow end. And we cooled down a lot.

Squirt

Squirt is a really fun game. So, a bunch of people get in a circle and there is a person in the middle who is the " Squirter ". The person in the middle points at someone in the circle and says " Squirt! " Whoever is getting pointed at has to bend down and the people on either side have to point at each other and say bang. First one to say "bang!" wins. And the loser sits down. If the person who is supposed to bend down doesn't then he or she is out. It was great and I survived until there were only like 10 people left.

Dictionary art

In this activity we had to go make a group of 10 and then we got a piece of big paper and a marker. Then we got a word from a counsesalor and had to draw it out and when our group members mind went "Ding!" they went up there and got another word. The words kept getting harder and harder but my group was the first to complete all 50 words. So, we won!
