Today was awesome! So, I wake up at 7:00 clock. March down the stairs and eat some toast. Take a shower and get dressed. My dad drives me down to our pickup school and we are on the bus ready to go.
In the very looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong bus drive I make a couple of friends. Before I know it we are there! So when we get to camp we sit down and find our counselors and group members. Then we got on our way to the .......... washrooms! But five minutes later we are hiking down a long and windy trail. We are surrounded by tall grass, moths and butterflies. Then we reach the archery range.
After waiting for 15 to get our turns me and a few other boys headed down with a counselor to play some soccer! I was one of the oldest kids there so I did pretty well. I scored a few, I blocked a few and I missed some shots. We played for about an hour before there were more and more kids starting to come. So, I decided to head back to archery. I shot eight arrows. This was my first time shooting real arrows. Here are the results. By the way it's harder than it looks.
- My first arrow didn't have enough punch in it went about halfway.
- Had great power but not the best aim.
- This one landed in the box of the target but didn't reach even the outer circles.
- Complete failure cause of aim.
- Went right above the circles.
- Closer to the circles but not yet.
- Hit the 2nd farthest circle!
- Too high
When I got there I saw ropes higher than the roofs of houses. We had to climb a slim pole, get to the top and lunge for a milk carton about a meter higher and farther from the top of the pole. The rest of the kids had to pull on a rope so when the guy jumped he didn't end his life. Most (80%) got less than halfway before coming down. About 10% of the climbers made it just higher than halfway before getting scared. Then 3% of the people got to the top bars but didn't wish to jump. The last 2% jumped from the top but no one touched the milk carton. A few kids didn't get to go up because of time issues, such as me.
Then we went swimming and you had to do swim tests. If you took the shallow end test you had to swim about 12 meters without stopping and you get a yellow badge. If you can't then you get a red and have to wear a life jacket. If you took the deep end test then you would have to swim 20 meters and tread water for 60 seconds. I could swim the 20 meters but couldn't tread water so they gave me a yellow instead of a green which meant you could go anywhere you wished.
After that there was another looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong bus ride and that is how the day ended. Live young, have fun and sleep happy!
keep on writing Hardik.
