Cedar Glen camp from a youngsters view part 9

July 11, 2013

Today was a great day at camp. We finally got to down to the valley again because we had cleared out all the water more or less and everything was back to normal. That was except for the fact that 85% of the bridges were broken, and that the river was really high and rapid and then there is the mud. Well us campers still had a lot of fun let me tell you how.

Remember high ropes? Well this was low ropes. LOW ROPES

At low ropes we did 2 things which were both related to balance. We had to fhasdkjh fjkdhsfjkh I will tell you in my next paragraphs.

Balance beam

So in this activity we made two one with 14 people (mostly girls) and one group with 15 people (all boyz!). So we had to play Simon says while balancing on the log. The counselors were tricky enough but add that to a log that is 1/2 a meter off the ground and you got trouble! People started plopping on the ground as soon as we got to some hard simon says. Then the last 10 people were brought down by some " okay now you can touch your nose!" there was no simon says there people. There were six final champs out of the 29 people there and I was one of them. Go me!

Balance beam unleashed!!!!

So now the two groups had to balance on the beam except that the side clips that had stopped it from moving up and down were unleashed and we had to balance the beam in the air with only our weight. It was hard but both groups stayed on for 5 whole seconds!!!! Yeah!!!

Shelter building

So like in shelter building we built a shelter again and this time my shelter was rain proof and weather proof because of the bark I put around it to fill up the gaps. I even scared away the bugs with my totally cool muscles ( it was actually bugspray but sshhhh!). It was tots fun!

Rock climbing

In rock climbing we had to climb those artificial rock walls again. So this time I chose to climb a much harder wall which resulted in me letting go of the wall twice! But this guy got to the top!!!!! Yeah!!!!!

THE MAZE (DAN DAN DAN!)

So the maze is actually a giant maze where you are the one who gets lost. So, we actually tried the maze ourselves and I was the first one out because I kept running around trying every single path. So this is how you get there.

Take your first left then a right, then follow the windy path when you reach an intersection take the right turn then you will come up against another intersection where you take the left. After another left then a right and you will be out of the maze.

If you read all of that you did two things : waste your time and make me laugh for your gullability .

After that we had a game of cops and robbers where the best strategy is to get lost so the cops will feel uncertain and start getting lost while you take a random path that will hopefully not be a dead end.

The end

Live young! Have fun!!! And most important of all sleep happy!!!!! :)
